10th Annual Golf Outing Raises $280,000
The 10th annual Posse Chicago Golf Outing, held at Skokie Country Club on September 8, drew more than 120 golfers and raised over $280,000 to support Scholars from Chicago.
After an afternoon on the links, Pomona College Posse alumnus Saul Vazquez delivered a keynote address at the dinner reception sponsored by Kraft Foods. Saul graduated from Pomona in 2014 and is now a full-time employee in the leadership development program at Allstate Corporation, the third largest personal lines insurer in the United States.
“I don’t believe it’s an exaggeration when I say that Posse saved me,” says Saul. “I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for the unflinching support from the Posse organization and its partners.”
The event was a success thanks to the leadership of event co-chairs and Posse Chicago Advisory Board members Edward “Ted” Swan and Gil de las Alas and the support of event committee members Celeste Center, Michon Ellis, Nick Kennedy, Andy Nguyen, Kate Norris, Ron Schutz and Pam Phillips Weston.
The next Posse Chicago Golf Outing will be held on June 8, 2015, at Skokie Country Club.
