Alumnus Joins Houston Board

Spring 2013 | Houston

Luciano Batista (Rice University Posse 1, New York) joined the Posse Houston Advisory Board in October. A business development manager for Royal Dutch Shell, he has built his career with the company in Houston for the past 14 years.

Luciano equates his selection as a Scholar with “being discovered.” At Rice, he developed lasting relationships with his Posse and solidified his love for engineering.

“Having Luciano on the board makes a huge difference,” says Posse Houston Director Kamari Brewer. “He has dedicated a great deal of time to the new Scholars, sharing his experience as a Scholar at the Awards Ceremony and during Pre-Collegiate Training. As a longtime resident of this city, his perspective will be instrumental to Posse Houston.”

“I am looking forward to sharing Posse with the Houston community,” says Luciano. “The incredible network of alumni that has been built over the years has an uncommon level of experience and talent. The benefits of Posse extend beyond individual Scholars. The sky is the limit!”

Luciano and his wife, Laura, live in Houston and are expecting a daughter this spring.
