Boeing Vice President Joins Advisory Board
Michael C. Ford is the newest member of the Posse Chicago Advisory Board. He is the vice president of global diversity & inclusion at Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace company.
In this role, he is developing talent and marketplace strategies to create a diverse and inclusive work environment. Through a partnership with Posse, Boeing is looking to identify Scholars for future internship opportunities, especially those who are pursuing STEM-related degrees.
“The Posse program is a great resource to identify future, diverse leaders,” says Michael. “I believe that Posse Scholars will not only transform their own lives, but they will serve as a catalyst to empower their communities and the world.”
While living in Washington, D.C., home to another Posse chapter, Michael was hooked on the Posse mission after a conversation with Posse President and Founder Deborah Bial and Life Director Garrett Moran. Now relocated to Chicago, Posse is thrilled to have his expertise and leadership on the advisory board.
“My mother, a teacher, always emphasized that education gives you options in life and that no one can ever take it away from you,” says Michael. “To me, there is nothing more fulfilling than to be able to give back to students and encourage them to dream big, to fulfill their purpose in life and to not be limited by personal and economic factors. The Posse Scholars exemplify this commitment to excellence and have the drive and fortitude to succeed in life. Through persistence and perseverance, each will witness the power of possibility and the energy of achievement that a college education will bring in their lives.”
