Fidelity Continues Comprehensive Support of Posse
The successful partnership between Fidelity Investments and Posse Boston began in 2009 through the Career Program. Since then, Fidelity has developed a comprehensive relationship with Posse, providing generous funding, company volunteers, and professional development and mentorship for Scholars.
Several current Posse Scholars have been hired by Fidelity—including one Scholar this summer—in areas such as financial services and information technology. The company has also hired three Posse Boston alumni for full-time positions. Committed to providing Scholars with professional development, Fidelity hosted Posse’s Career Day in 2010 and 2011, which allowed Scholars the opportunity to meet professionals from various industries.
“My experience with Fidelity has been
wonderful,” says Hamilton Posse alumnus Loubens Theork, a senior investment data analyst who has worked at Fidelity since 2008. “I have had many opportunities to grow within the
business. I am now one of the key players influencing change and the
direction we would like to take as a firm.”
A major sponsor of Posse Boston’s annual Awards Ceremony and the Power of 10 fundraising event, Fidelity has contributed generously to Posse Boston’s programming since 2010. Additionally, the company has hosted Posse Boston’s annual Corporate Appreciation Breakfast since its inception, as well as sessions for the Dynamic Assessment Process, which involve hundreds of local students nominated for the Posse Scholarship.
Many Fidelity employees are involved with Posse as donors and volunteers. Among Posse's champions at Fidelity is Senior Advisor Richard Fentin, who joined the Posse Boston Advisory Board in 2011.
“Fidelity has been an outstanding corporate partner,” says Posse Boston Director Lamont Gordon. “With strong, multifaceted support of our program, Fidelity is making a broad and deep impact on Posse and our Scholars and alumni.”
