First New Orleans Posses Graduate from College
In June, Posse New Orleans celebrated its first graduating class of Scholars at Alumni Induction. Graduates from Bard College and Tulane University were welcomed into the national Posse Alumni Network with family members, supporters and Posse alumni present.
Tareian King, newly graduated from Bard where she majored in human rights, spoke to guests and her fellow alumni about the important roles Posse and Bard played in her development as a student and citizen.
“With the continued support of my family, my Posse, The Posse Foundation and now the Posse Alumni Network, I am confident that I can fulfill my dreams,” Tareian said.
Posse National Alumni Advisory Council representative Emily Cardinas, a Tulane University Posse alumna from Los Angeles, encouraged new alumni to continue to access Posse’s resources and to maintain connections with each other. Entergy Senior Vice President Don Vinci, a member of the Posse New Orleans Advisory Board, congratulated the new alumni and thanked parents for their support.
These 2016 college graduates join a community of more than 3,600 other Posse alumni around the country. They comprise a leadership network unlike any other, and together they will work to ensure that our communities, businesses and governments better represent the diversity of our country.
