Glitter Soirée Raises Record-Breaking $850K

Posse Los Angeles held its ninth annual Glitter Soirée this October at the Fox Lot Studios in Los Angeles, California. A true celebration of Posse Scholars’ achievements and resilience, the gala welcomed over 250 guests and raised more than $850,000 to support the Posse program — a record-breaking success for the site.

The evening recognized the strength of a Posse of 10 dynamic students and celebrated diversity in higher education and the workforce, especially in Los Angeles.

The program featured a powerful lineup of speakers, including Posse President and Founder Debbie Bial, Posse Los Angeles Director Nikki Kealalio, Posse Los Angeles Advisory Board Chair and Monitor Deloitte Principal Susan Goldsmith, and LAUSD Superintendent and Posse National Board Member Alberto Carvalho.

Pepperdine Scholars also shared inspiring stories, followed by a special spotlight on Anthony Bush, this year’s Ainslie Alumni Achievement Award winner. Anthony is a graduate of Dickinson College and now serves as the inaugural Chief Equity Officer and Deputy Director of San Francisco’s Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing.

The evening included a lively paddle raise led by auctioneer Chuck Dukas, followed by remarks from CalArts President Ravi Rajan. CalArts Scholar Rebecca Villanueva, a gifted vocalist and student of musical theater, closed the evening with a stellar performance.
