Google Awards $50K Grant to Posse Atlanta, Connects with Program Alumni
Posse Atlanta received a generous grant of $50,000 from Google to support the Posse Career Program and multiple site events in 2021 and 2022.
Prior to awarding the grant, Google hosted two alumni events: a virtual alumni dinner and an outreach event entitled “Life @ Google”. The alumni dinner, held last February and led by Posse Atlanta Advisory Board member Reginald McKnight, global head of social impact at Google, was designed to give Scholars a forum for candid career conversations.
“We're so excited to be part of the amazing work Posse is doing for budding talent.”

"We’re so excited to be part of the amazing work Posse is doing for budding talent," says Reginald. "From helping first-generation students navigate and fund their college experiences to expanding diverse representation in areas like politics, media and beyond with Posse alumni, we are proud to be part of Posse’s ongoing work to develop young leaders.”
The success of the alumni dinner prompted Reginald to coordinate the Life @ Google event with program managers across Google’s Data Center organization. The event took place virtually in June 2021 and included talent acquisition professionals who met with alumni interested in positions at the company.
Following the success of the initial two events, Google committed to a $50,000 grant to fund two additional events in 2021 and the annual “Winter Career Day” in 2022. The Career Day will also welcome Reginald as keynote speaker, with more Google employees set to participate as panelists and workshop presenters.
