Hilton Executive Forges Partnership with Posse D.C.

Winter 2013 | D.C.

Michael C. Ford is the newest member of the Posse D.C. Advisory Board. He currently serves as the vice president of global diversity and inclusion at Hilton Worldwide, which operates more than 3,900 hotels in 91 countries. In this role, Michael leverages the unique cultures of communities around the world,  developing talent and marketplace strategies to create a diverse and inclusive work environment.

After a conversation with Posse President and Founder Deborah Bial and Posse National Board member Garrett Moran, Michael was hooked and began a partnership with Posse.

My mother, a teacher, always emphasized that education gives you options in life and that no one can ever take it away from you,” says Michael. “To me, there is nothing more fulfilling than to be able to give back to students and encourage them to dream big, to fulfill their purpose in life and to not be limited by personal and economic factors. The Posse Scholars exemplify this commitment to excellence and have the drive and fortitude to succeed in life. Through persistence and perseverance, each will witness the power of possibility and the energy of achievement that a college education will bring in their lives.”

Through the partnership with Posse, Hilton Worldwide provides internship opportunities for Scholars interested in careers in hospitality. With more than 40 languages spoken in Hilton hotels, Michael is constantly looking for diverse talent to ensure that they are the preeminent global hospitality company.

“Posse Scholars are a great resource to identify future, diverse leaders,” says Michael. “I believe that Posse Scholars will not only transform their own lives, but they will serve as a catalyst to empower their communities and the world.”
