Houston Receives Workforce Development Grant from Bank of America
Following a successful first year that included the recruitment of 30 new Scholars, Posse Houston is the proud recipient of a highly competitive workforce development grant from The Bank of America Charitable Foundation. The grant is part of ongoing investments by Bank of America to help connect the unemployed, underemployed, veterans, youth, and those with disabilities to employment opportunities and success.
“This workforce development grant will be pivotal for the growth of Posse Houston,” says Posse Houston Director Kamari J. Brewer. “We believe that this grant is laying the foundation for a strong local relationship with Bank of America.”
Posse Houston hosted Bank of America representatives Patti Abshire, the senior vice president and Houston community relations manager, and Jim Mercurio, the managing director and executive for oil and gas. Their first visit allowed them to see the Posse program in action and to speak with Scholars.
“Posse is more than just a scholarship,” said Bryn Mawr College Scholar Aleja Newman. “This program helps us achieve our full potential.”
