Lehigh Scholar Explores Finance as Bloomberg Intern

Winter 2022 | Bay Area

Lehigh University Posse Scholar Jessica Louie spent last summer interning at Bloomberg LP in New York City. As a business optimization intern, Jessica worked within Bloomberg’s corporate finance department verifying data and maintaining relations and clear communication with the company’s suppliers.

Throughout the experience, Jessica says she pulled inspiration from lessons she has learned as a Posse Scholar.

“Posse skills have helped me through so many situations in my life, including at Lehigh and in my role at Bloomberg.”

“Posse has definitely taught me my most valuable lesson, which has been listening,” Jessica says. “Posse skills have helped me through so many situations in my life, including my leadership positions at Lehigh and in my role at Bloomberg.”

The internship at Bloomberg offered Jessica a unique opportunity to experience an active workplace, presenting welcome contrast to her prior leadership roles held at Lehigh.

“I loved the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone,” she says. “I felt a strong connection to Bloomberg’s culture of acceptance and collaboration.”

Jessica has not yet decided on a specific career path after college, but is confident that she is on her way as a finance major with a minor in philosophy. She knows that the support of Posse, her rigorous academic schedule, and leadership positions on campus will put her in an excellent position to pursue her goals.
