Los Angeles Scholars, Alumni Explore Careers with Deloitte
Last summer, Posse Los Angeles Scholars and alumni attended Deloitte Impact Day, a national service event organized by Posse Career Program partner Deloitte. The event was facilitated by local Deloitte employees and focused on developing skills for success in higher education and the workforce, including tips for networking and interviewing.
The day began with small-group facilitated activities including a panel discussion on “Career Paths, Passions & Purpose.” Afterwards, Posse Scholars and alumni participated in mock interviews led by representatives from the Human Capital department. Jose Campos, a partner with the firm, talked about his Latino identity and his experience navigating business fields and assuming a leadership position.
One Posse Los Angeles Scholar participating in the sessions was Christopher Hidalgo, a Pepperdine University Scholar who participated in Deloitte’s National Pioneer internship program last summer. As part of the internship, he shadowed Deloitte’s talent division and worked alongside the audit and assurance team on a project with a real estate client.
At Impact Day, Christopher recalls feeling welcomed and inspired by Jose Campos’ remarks at the Deloitte event: “It made me realize that I wanted to work for a company where all cultures are represented.”
