Posse Atlanta Welcomes New Class of Scholars

Summer 2024 | Atlanta

On January 4th, Posse Atlanta recognized the newest class of Scholars at the annual Awards Ceremony. Held downtown at The Gathering Spot, this year’s event celebrated 61 remarkable students, recipients of over $28 million in full-tuition leadership scholarships from Posse’s partner colleges and universities.

Attendees included Scholars’ families and supporters as well as Posse staff, board members and representatives from all six Posse Atlanta partner schools: Bard College, Boston University, Brandeis University, The College of Wooster, The George Washington University and Texas A&M University.

The evening was a celebration of Scholars’ achievements thus far and the bright future leaders they will grow into during their tenure at these prestigious colleges and universities starting this fall. The program included a moving montage showcasing Scholars all over the country receiving their invitation—known as “The Call”—to become Posse Scholars. During the event Scholars also received roses and listened to congratulatory remarks from Posse staff and college administrators.

The ceremony closed with a special moment from parents and supporters of the Scholars expressing their heartfelt pride to the Scholars as they sat on stage. In turn, Scholars were able to share their gratitude for the support they received from their families and communities.

The new Scholars are currently participating in Posse’s Pre-Collegiate Training Program. The weekly, eight-month training process includes coaching and workshops designed to develop Scholars’ leadership skills and prepare them to make the most of their college experience.
