Posse Boston Welcomes New Director Andrew Gallagher
After an extensive search, The Posse Foundation welcomes Andrew Gallagher as the new director of Posse Boston. Andrew joined the team on April 9 as his predecessor, Lamont Gordon, assumed his new role as associate vice president at Posse's national headquarters in New York City.
Andrew received a bachelor's degree from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.P.A. from Suffolk University. Prior to joining Posse, he was the director of external relations for The Learning Project, a role that encompassed admissions, school advancement and public affairs.
In 2008, Andrew founded August Scholars, a tuition-free summer program for low-income Boston area students who are performing below grade-level. He has also taught an undergraduate course called Social Change and Foundations of Public Management at Suffolk University.
“Andrew comes to us with a great commitment to education and to the development of emerging leaders,” says Matt Fasciano, Posse’s chief operating officer. “His work at The Learning Project, August Scholars and the Massachusetts Boys State and Girls State Foundation has earned him high regard in the Boston community and has positioned him well to fill some big shoes at Posse Boston. We know he’s up for the task and look forward to having him on the team.”
