Fall 2021 | Boston

Despite a challenging year, Posse Career Program partners provided exciting internship opportunities for Posse Scholars this past summer. Companies, including Columbia Threadneedle Investments and Vertex Pharmaceuticals, were eager to hire Scholars for career-enhancing intern positions.

The Posse Career Program opens doors for Scholars to secure competitive internships and leadership-track jobs.

“We are delighted to have had six Posse Scholars intern with Columbia Threadneedle this summer,” says Ted Truscott, the CEO of Global Asset Management at Ameriprise Financial. “Asset management is a dynamic industry that offers young people several challenging and rewarding career paths. It’s our hope that we can provide a meaningful opportunity for Posse Scholars to explore and ultimately pursue a career in this exciting field.”

Vertex, a global biopharmaceutical company, hired three Posse Scholar interns in 2021. Jossara Dos Santos Dias, a now-senior at Union College, says her intern experience included unique access to the company’s top executives.

“I met Vertex’s Reshma Kewalramani, the first female CEO at a large US biotechnology company,” Jossara says. “I’m so grateful for the all of the amazing opportunities I’ve had at Vertex.”
