Propeller Joins Posse New Orleans as Newest Career Partner
Propeller, a nonprofit organization that helps launch social ventures to address local challenges, has become Posse New Orleans’ newest Career Program partner. As part of the partnership, Propeller will provide meaningful summer internships to Posse Scholars on campus each year and market full-time, competitive job opportunities to Posse alumni.
“We are thrilled to partner with Propeller,” says Posse New Orleans Director Monica Sylvain. “Its role as an incubator of social ventures is of interest to so many of the students and alumni we serve.”
Propeller has been an active contributor to the Posse Career Program in previous years. In July 2016 the organization hosted a workshop event for Posse Scholars that featured discussions about social issues facing New Orleans communities and tutorials on designing and pitching business solutions.
“After the Propeller workshop I realized how powerful ideas are,” says Grinnell Posse Scholar Rayyon Robinson. “When tackling a problem, engaging in other's ideas helps you develop your own, which makes the solution more accessible and visible. Most important, the Propeller workshop taught me that change comes from the people and from within.”
