Scholar Awarded Fellowship To Study In Buenos Aires
Before returning to Mount Holyoke College for her junior year, Scholar Andrea Hernandez spent the summer interning at Manos en Acción, a non-governmental organization in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Her experience was made possible by a Cultural Vistas Fellowship, which places students in eight-week summer internships in Argentina, Germany and India, with the goal of advancing career goals and broadening global cultural perspectives.
Manos en Acción aims to improve quality of life for low-income families in Buenos Aires, offering tools and resources for equity opportunities.
During her time at the organization, Andrea’s work included processing donations, managing survey data, preparing volunteer reports for corporate sponsors, data entry, researching potential corporate donors and helping to organize the annual charity golf tournament.
Andrea’s interest in corporate social responsibility meant she was particularly excited to learn how the organization built relationships with corporate sponsors.
“I could not have asked for more from the internship," says Andrea.
