Syracuse Scholar Named “Freshman of the Year”
Syracuse University Scholar Mignon Farnet, who is a double major in accounting and supply chain management, was named Freshman of the Year by the Whitman School of Management. The recipient of the award is determined by student GPA and a faculty vote.
“It was a great surprise,” says Mignon. “The award represents my hard work and persistence and I was humbled by the honor.”
In addition to her stellar academic record, Mignon is a stand-out member of the campus community. She is a resident advisor for a student learning community in the Whitman School of Management and next semester she will be the fundraising co-chair for Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor organization for students in accounting, finance, and information studies. Mignon is also involved with the St. Thomas More Campus Ministry Program, serving as treasurer, volunteering, and leading a retreat team.
“We are very proud of Mignon,” says Posse Atlanta Director Zenith Houston. “This honor exemplifies the academic prowess of our Scholars in achieving success and making an impact at Syracuse.”
