Three New Members Join Boston Advisory Board

Posse Boston is thrilled to announce the addition of three members to its advisory board: Edward G. Smith, Oris Stuart and Dudney Sylla.

Edward G. Smith is a senior vice president and director of the Basel Program at State Street, where his focus is on risk management. As director of the Basel Program, he manages the coordination and communication of banking laws and regulations. Originally from Oklahoma, Edward graduated from Harvard University in 1997 with a degree in physics. Prior to joining State Street, he was a partner at Oliver Wyman in New York City.

“Posse Scholars have, by high school, demonstrated a talent for success,” says Edward. “So what better way to reward them than with the new and expanded opportunities for achievement that college represents, especially if their backgrounds might otherwise cause them to be overlooked? The richness of the college experience, too, broadens as we broaden the set of those experiencing it.”

Oris Stuart is a senior partner at Korn/Ferry International, where he specializes in talent management, diversity and inclusion consulting. Previously, Oris was the chief executive officer and co-founder of Global Novations, an international management consulting firm. Oris graduated from the University of Virginia with an electrical engineering degree and received his Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University.

“I was thrilled to have the opportunity to support an organization that is, in dramatic and effective fashion, increasing access to some of the world's leading colleges and universities for deserving students,\" says Oris. \"The work of Posse Boston, and the other Posse chapters, mirrors the work we do with our clients who are striving to leverage diversity and inclusion to drive innovation and performance.”

Dudney Sylla, a Posse alumnus and 2008 graduate of Bowdoin College, is Boston's new Posse National Alumni Advisory Council (PNAAC) representative. He received his Master of Education degree, with a focus on higher educational leadership and policy studies, from the University of Washington. Dudney is the project manager for early college design services at Jobs for the Future, an organization that develops educational and professional pathways leading from college readiness to career advancement.

“I wanted an opportunity to give back to the Posse community,” Dudney says. “Serving on the board  is one way to be of service to the great alumni we have in our city. I am proud to be a part of this network of leaders.”
