Bard Graduate Selected As Baccalaureate Speaker

Brandon LaBord, a member of Atlanta’s first Posse from Bard College, was selected by the senior class committee to be the 2013 baccalaureate speaker in recognition of his positive influence on Bard’s campus community.

Brandeis University Posse alumna Ajai Scott, an associate business systems analyst, is the first Posse alumna to be hired for a full-time position at Liberty Mutual.

Brandeis Posse to Spend Junior Year Abroad

During the 2013-2014 academic year, eight third-year Scholars from Posse Atlanta’s first Brandeis Posse will study abroad, immersing themselves in other cultures to become more informed global citizens. These Scholars will travel to Amsterdam, Argentina, Bolivia, Denmark, England, Ghana, India and New Zealand to study communications, culture, art and politics.

Wheaton College sophomore Khadim Niang was selected for the college’s highly competitive Davis International Fellows Program. He will receive a $5,000 stipend to support his summer internship with Conscience International, a nongovernmental organization in Gambia that strives to protect individual human and civil rights worldwide.

Carleton Scholar Wins Prestigious Watson Fellowship

Carleton College graduate Robin Wonsley won a prestigiousThomas J. Watson Fellowship, which offers “college graduates of ‘unusual promise’ a year of independent, purposeful exploration and travel in international settings new to them.” Robin will research and analyze reintegration programs for women who have been incarcerated in Dublin, Ireland; Oslo, Norway; Ontario, Canada; and Accra, Ghana.
